COLUMBUS, OH, February 22, 2018 - The Ohio Quarter Horse Association (OQHA), host of the All American Quarter Horse Congress (AAQHC), has now moved from its Richwood, Ohio location to its new headquarters on Quarter Horse Drive in Columbus, Ohio. “We have recognized the importance of having the association closer to Columbus for many years,” said Dr. Scott Myers, OQHA CEO. “The new headquarters will provide continued growth of OQHA and the AAQHC. We are enthusiastic to expand our presence in the Columbus community. More than 400 members of Ohio Quarter Horse Association members gathered at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Columbus, Ohio Saturday to celebrate the achievements of hundreds of outstanding horsemen and horsewomen.  AQHA Show Manager Justin Billings and 2017 All American Quarter Horse Congress Queen Sara Laughlin wowed guests with their thoughtful sentiments throughout the dinner and awards where 2018 officers and directors were announced for the OQHA Open Board, Amateur and Youth associations.    OQHA President Chris Cecil Darnell presented George Seanor and Cindy Moorehead with the President's award for their hardwork and dedication to OQHA and the Congress while OQHYA President Olivia Tordoff presented

The  American Quarter Horse Association  has announced the judges for the 2018 AQHA Central, AQHA West and Nutrena East AQHA Level 1 Championships. “Our goal is to bring together an excellent roster of judges for the Level 1 Championships,” said Pete Kyle, AQHA chief show officer. “It is important for exhibitors to know they are being judged by the rules and by a highly qualified group of judges at each show.” The individuals selected as the 2018 Level 1 Championships judges are: AQHA Central Level 1 Championships Rhonda Replogle, Clear Spring, Maryland Tanya Green, Aubrey, Texas Matt Howell, Eden, Texas Ryan Kail, Scottsdale, Arizona Lance Baker, Amarillo, Texas T.W. The American Quarter Horse Association, January 31, 20178 AQHA walk-trot classes at the AQHA Level 1 Championships will offer newcomers a chance to compete at one of three championship shows. AQHA walk-trot classes are making their debut at the 2018 AQHA  West , AQHA  Central  and  Nutrena East  Level 1 Championships this spring.  Walk-trot classes are the perfect way for eligible exhibitors to get in the arena and gain experience, which goes hand-in-hand with the purpose of the Level 1 Championships.  Also new this year, there are no qualifying requirements to show at the  AQHA Level 1 Championships . All American Quarter Horse Association and American Quarter Horse Youth Association members are invited to attend the AQHA convention each year as a way to stay involved with the horse industry, have an impact on decisions, voice opinions and learn new things.  While more than 1,000 members converge on  AQHA convention  each year, AQHA leadership would love to see an even larger number of members take part in this important event. STEPHEN MICHAEL ARBAUGH December 21, 1947 ‒ January 15, 2018 Mansfield, Ohio Lieutenant Stephen Arbaugh was like a brother to many, not just a friend. Every activity in which he participated grew to form a strong kinship: his Sheriff Department Family, his Horse Judging Family, his McDonald’s Breakfast Family, his Golf Family, his Gun Collectors Family, and his Lexington Athletics Family. Steve Arbaugh, age 70, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at his Mansfield farm. He was born December 21, 1947 in Mansfield to parents David Roy & Marjorie Ann (Maglott) Arbaugh.
