I got involved through my mom because she barrel raced, and I’ve always been in the barn since an early age. What disciplines/classes do you show in and why did you choose those disciplines/classes? Age: 18 Where do you live and with who? I live in Frankfurt, Ohio, with my mom and dad, Samantha and Kevin Patterson. How did you get involved in horses? My cousin used to work at a racehorse barn, so I would go with her and help brush the horses. One day, she finally put me on one and have always ridden since. What discipline(s)/class(es) do you show in and why did you choose that discipline or class(es)? I show in Western Pleasure. I chose to show in it because I am a perfectionist, and the pleasure is all about controlling the horse’s movement, along with perfecting the horse, not yourself. Name: Tana Drew Age: 11 Where do you live and with who: I split my time between Malvern, OH with my Mom and step-dad, Mike and Ashland, OH with my Dad and step-mom, Melissa. What would be impossible for you to give up? My dog, Jewel. She is a 3 year old, very spoiled, black and tan dachshund. Tell us something that no one knows about you. You can find me taking care of my horses, doing my home-school work, and hanging out at my grandparent's houses. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Living on a farm is something I couldn't give up! Tell us something that no one knows about you. I had surgery when I was 3 months old to remove fluid on my skull. I have a scar on the right side of my head. Where can we find you when not at a horse show? A friends house, our family cottage in New York, or working on the farm. I want to be remembered by my peers as someone with the highest level of integrity, an undeniable work ethic and a great friend. What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses? My biggest strengths are that I am very determined and willing to do what ever it takes to be successful. Another strength of mine would be that I strive for perfection, I believe that if you are ambitious about something you should do it perfectly and to the best of your ability or not at all.
