Olivia Tordoff is a candidate for 2016 AQHYA Region 4 National Director.
How do you want to be remembered by your peers?
I want to be remembered by my peers as someone with the highest level of integrity, an undeniable work ethic and a great friend.
What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
My biggest strengths are that I am very determined and willing to do what ever it takes to be successful. Another strength of mine would be that I strive for perfection, I believe that if you are ambitious about something you should do it perfectly and to the best of your ability or not at all.
My biggest weakness are that I am actually very shy, I can be very hard on myself, and I always feel as though good is never good enough.
Who do you admire the most and why?
I admire my parents most because of their exemplary work ethic, integrity, and ability to make myself and others laugh each and every day. To me they are the ideal representation of great people.
What goals are you working toward?
I have an academic goal of achieving a 3.8-4.0 GPA throughout high school. I have an equestrian goal of being fortunate enough to ride on a NCEA team. I also have an OQHYA goal of being an influential leader who improves our organization every year. Lastly I have a personal goal of growing into the best individual I can be and learning to laugh more along the way.
What is a typical day for you outside of horse shows?
A typical day for me outside of horse shows involves me waking up early in the morning to walk our dogs, cleaning my room, and venturing to school. Once in school I study hard and occasionally day dream about riding my quarter horses. After school I return home to study a bit more and finally make my way to taekwondo to train for my third degree black belt.
What characteristics make a good team leader/member?
A good leader must possess the ability to listen to their peers with an open mind. They must also have the ability to motivate a team towards a common goal in a positive and productive way. Finally, it is critically important that a good leader leads by example and has the utmost integrity in everything they do.
