The American Quarter Horse Association, July 17, 2016, Craig Huffhines, AQHA executive vice president What an inspiring week it was in Amarillo last week. We hosted the 2016 Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar , and it was a wonderful turnout of young people from all over the country and abroad who are united in a common purpose: to celebrate and strengthen our great horse industry. I think it says a whole lot about these kids that they’re willing to spend a piece of July, their precious summer time, in the Texas Panhandle learning how to grow themselves personally, professionally and with their American Quarter Horses. NRHA Holds High School “Catch Ride” Competition During the 2016 Derby

National Reining Horse Association - Oklahoma City, Okla. – June 20, 2016:   The National Reining Horse Association will host the NRHA High School Reining Championship during the 2016 NRHA Derby. Eight of the most talented high school riders will represent their association to compete for the ‘Slide of their Lives’: four riders from the 2015 NRHA Youth 14-18 Top Ten and four from the 2015 14-18 North American Affiliate Championship (NAAC) class.    Caroline Gute from Dublin, Ohio took home the title of 2015 NRHA High School Champion aboard KR Ima Selfish donated by Linda Lily.   It’s well known how competitive the World Champion race is, resulting in a list of riders who are seasoned athletes and highly driven.

The American Quarter Horse Association, June 14, 2016 Youth from across the country will gather July 12-14 for the 2016 Bank of America Youth Excellence Seminar in Amarillo. YES welcomes youth ages 10 to 18 to experience a three-day, fun-packed event that offers valuable leadership skills, inspiring speakers and tons of fun. This year's theme is " My Roots Run Deep ." OQHYA Annual Meeting and Award Banquet is a Success

  The Ohio Quarter Horse Youth Association (OQHYA) conducted their annual meeting, February 6, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel before the Ohio Quarter Horse Association (OQHA) Annual Awards Banquet.  Thirty-six youth members attended the annual meeting including eight new members. The youth enjoyed pizza and cookies while they brainstormed ideas for fundraising, how to increase youth membership, and community services/outreach programs. Officers and Directors were also voted and appointed. After the meeting, they enjoyed playing “Minute To Win It” games. The OQHYA made an exceptional impression at the Annual Awards Banquet. While simultaneously mingling with the crowd, various youth members sold
