Eight Reasons to Attend AQHA Convention
American Quarter Horse Association, January 29, 2018 Find out why you need to make reservations to attend the 2018 AQHA Convention in Jacksonville, Florida. Ohio Amateurs Make Their Mark at AQHA More OAQHA directors attended this year’s convention in San Antonio than any other in years past. They represented the interests of Ohio Quarter Horse Amateur members throughout the four-day event by sharing their concerns at committee meetings, attending industry workshops and participating in the general membership meeting itself. At that meeting, each member voted on some hot button issues including the addition of 13 & Under core classes at the Youth World which passed by overwhelming support. After the convention, our Amateurs took their commitment to the industry even further by applying to join AQHA committees themselves. We are proud to report that OAQHA

Amateurs prep for 2017 Buckeye
This year’s Little Buckeye and Buckeye Classic was held at the World Equestrian Center in Wilmington for the first time and saw a sizable increase over last year, making it the largest event yet for both OAQHA and BWHA. In addition to the new facility, much of the growth can be attributed to the full slate of Level 1, 2 and 3 classes along with Rookie Highpoint and New AQHA Exhibitor Saddle giveaways. $100,000 in free entries and prizes didn’t hurt either, something unique to the Buckeye. Some 15 first time exhibitors attended the show who were all in their first year showing AQHA, which made OAQHA and BWHA very proud. Participants were treated to true Buckeye hospitality that has become synonymous with the show; over

Ohio Amateurs Well Represented at AQHA Convention
This year’s AQHA Convention was held March 11-14 at the incredible South Point Hotel and Equestrian Center in Las Vegas. Our Ohio Amateurs made sure what happened in Vegas didn’t just stay in Vegas. Each of the five members who attended were active in the marketing and show committee meetings, as well as supportive of AQHA’s Foundation and PAC benefits. They brought back with them insight into AQHA’s strategic mission of remaining innovative in an ever changing world that presents constant challenges to our industry. For example, AQHA stressed how important it is for us to be the Netflix of the equine industry instead of the Blockbuster Video who failed to evolve with the times. While AQHA remains the dominant
