Reily Jacobs Bell
- Where do you live and with who?
- I live in Zanesville, Ohio with my parents, Matt and Melissa Bell, my brothers, Brady and Baylor, and my sister, Delaney.
- How did you get involved with horses?
- My mom had a good friend that asked me to come to her house and ride. I went out, took riding lessons and showed lead line when I was six. The rest is history!
- What discipline/ classes do you show in and why did you choose that discipline or classes?
- For the past two years, I have been mainly focused on the western pleasure. However, this year I plan to resume showing horsemanship, equitation, hunter under saddle, western riding, and trail. I love these disciplines because they are all challenging in different ways and require me to really focus and work as a team with my horse.
- What would be impossible for you to give up (something that is not horse related)
- Something that would be impossible for me to give up is my faith in God and my amazing family.
- Tell us something that no one knows about you
- I am my school’s freshman class president.
- Where can we find you when you aren’t at a horse show?
- You can find me on the golf course, skiing with friends, or visiting with family.
- What do you see your future self doing?
- I see myself riding on a collegiate equestrian team, then going on to medical school in hopes of being a doctor of some form.
- If you could ride any horse, who would it be and why?
- I would love to ride Deanna Green’s horse, Buttercup, because he is such a beautiful mover and does all of the patterns so well.
- What is a goal that you want to accomplish during your time showing horses?
- I would love to have the opportunity to ride on an equestrian team collegiately.
- Who is your hero/role model?
- My biggest role model is my mom. She is always so positive and never fails to provide me with the boost of confidence I always need, in and out of the show pen.
- What is the biggest dream you have accomplished showing horses?
- My biggest dream I have accomplished showing horses is my 2016 NSBA World Champion title in the western pleasure with the mare I leased, Get Her Vitals, aka Lucy.
- An accomplishment you have achieved outside the show arena?
- I earned a varsity letter my freshman year playing golf!
