Name: Colton Smith
Age: 10 and in 3rd grade.
Where do you live and with who?:
Bellefontaine, OH and lives with his parents Dewey and Tammi Smith.
How did you get involved with horses?:
Colton has been around horses all his life and when they were building their new barn in Oklahoma, he became super attached.
What disciplines/classes do you show in and why did you choose that discipline or class(es)?: He shows in Halter, both his parents have shown halter and they have a breeding program for halter horses.
What would be impossible for you to give up? (something that’s non horse related):
“I could never give up my family, because they have taught me everything I know.”
Tell us something nobody knows about you:
“I’m not really sure”
Where can we find you when you aren’t at a horse show?:
You can usually find Colton at the barn, his house, and sometimes school because these are the places where he spends most of his time.
What do you see your future self doing?:
“I will want to be showing horses still, in the halter, and barrels.”
If you could ride any horse, who would it be and why?:
Colton would be riding his very own pony “Gotta Lot of Royal” because he loves him, he is a good teaching pony, and he enjoys riding in his free time.
What is a goal that you want to accomplish during your time showing horses?:
Last year, Colton had a goal to get 200 points in the halter. He ended the year with 199 points this year. His new goal for 2017 is to get 300 points in the halter and is now qualified and attending the Youth World.
Who is your hero/role model?:
HIs hero is his dad, Dewey, because he shows Halter studs and he wants to be just like him.
What is the biggest dream you have accomplished showing horses?:
Colton had won the Youth Honor Role for 2016
What is an accomplishment you have achieved outside the show arena?:
“I have gotten all A’s in school.”
